BBC licence payers demand Mac & Linux Support

The BBC's plans to launch on-demand services including features such as "catch-up" and "streaming" content has come under fire. It has not gone unnoticed that there iPlayer software will only work on Windows based machines.A petition has been launched on the Prime Ministers website with the following statement, "We the undersigned petition the Prime Minister to prevent the BBC from making its iPlayer on-demand television service available to Windows users only, and instruct the corporation to provide its service for other operating systems also." At the time of posting the number of signatures was nearing 2,000.
